Biography 

Karen Roberts is a part-time member of the MSc Physician Associate Studies team. Her main areas of focus are assessment and curriculum design, especially regarding GMC regulation of PAs and PA education. She has run standard setting and OSCE workshops for PA educators in the UK and the US. She is an Education Associate with the GMC.

Karen qualified as a PA at the University of Colorado Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant Programme and has worked in General Practice in the US and the UK. She has 18+ years of experience in PA education and served as PA Programme Director in the UK for over a decade. Karen served on the boards of the UK PA national organisations 2010-2018. She was Chair of the PA National Exam 2014-2018.

Karen is originally from New Mexico and attended New Mexico State University for her undergraduate degree in German. She speaks German and Spanish. She moved to West Sussex in 2007 and became a UK citizen in 2011.

Karen is passionate about patient safety and excellence in PA education.
