The exhibition features innovative artworks created by students at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, using installation, performance, intervention, sculpture, painting, photography, video and digital media as a means of communicating ideas about medicine and bio-medical science.

Also featured are works by professional artists and designers involved with the medical school, including Patrick Altes and Tom Ainsworth. A new series of artworks by students from the Art and Microbiology Course, made using bacteria will be presented. We are also very pleased to announce tha works from the internationally recognised Laboratory Life project which took place at Lighthouse recently will be exhibited. That exhibition brought together BSMS medical students and staff with scientists and artists such as Anna Dumitriu, Kira O’Reilly, Bruce Gilchrist, Andy Gracie and Adam Zaretsky to collaborate on new art and science projects. The Laboratory Life project was led by artist Andy Gracie & organised by Lighthouse and The Arts Catalyst and originally staged as part of Brighton Science Festival.
