BSMS has seen a 15% rise in applications for its undergraduate course for 2012, despite an increase in tuition fees to £9,000.

The medical school has received 2500 applications compared with 2170 for 2011. Applicants will be competing for a maximum of 138 places to start the course in September 2012.

Mary Herns, Admissions Tutor said:

“None of us really knew what to expect for 2012 entry, given the introduction of increased tuition fees, but we are pleased to see this rise in our application numbers.  It is testament to BSMS’s ever-growing reputation as an excellent place to read medicine”.

Applications via UCAS closed on October 15. For more information about the admissions process at BSMS, see our admissions pages.
