By coach

Coaches to Brighton leave from London Victoria Coach Station and arrive at Brighton Pool Valley Coach Station. Services depart every hour during the day and the journey takes approximately one hour and 45 minutes. From Pool Valley it is a short walk - approximately 100 metres - to the Old Steine where you can catch a bus (see section on Bus travel) to the Falmer campuses, or alternatively take a taxi.

London Gatwick Airport is the closest airport to Brighton. From Gatwick take the train to Brighton or Lewes and change for Falmer (see section on train travel).

From Heathrow you can take the underground (London Transport) to Victoria Railway Station and then the train to Brighton and on to Falmer.

Alternatively, coaches (number 747) run from both Gatwick and Heathrow Airports to the centre of Brighton (from Heathrow - this is a good option if you have lots of luggage!).

If you are arriving at London City Airport take the train from Silvertown and City Airport to Canning Town, then get a tube (underground train) to London Bridge, and then a Thameslink train direct to Brighton and change for Falmer.

By sea

Passenger ferries operate between Dieppe and Newhaven, which has a direct train link to Falmer.

From Portsmouth or Southampton, take the train to Brighton and change there for Falmer.

From all other ports, take the train to London and travel from London Victoria Station via Brighton or Lewes.

Via the Channel Tunnel

Eurostar operates train services to and from continental Europe via the Channel Tunnel. There is a passenger terminal at Ashford, but it is easier to carry on to London Waterloo Railway Station.

From Waterloo take the underground (London Transport) to Victoria Railway Station and then the train to Brighton and on to Falmer.
