Leading oncologist appointed as new head of Brighton and Sussex Medical School

The University of Sussex and the University of Brighton have appointed Professor Malcolm Reed, a leading academic surgical oncologist, as the new Dean of BSMS.

Overall student satisfaction at 96%

Brighton and Sussex Medical School has been rated with 96% overall satisfaction in the National Student Survey of final year students, 10 marks higher than the sector average for other UK medical schools (86%) and 1% higher than last year’s result.

BSMS scientists identify process that triggers inflammatory diseases

Scientists have discovered a process in the body that may be contributing to inflammation in many diseases, including atherosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, stroke and myocardial infarction.
