Professor Ken Miles is the Clinical Director of CISC.
BSMS imaging scientists and other university and clinical research groups in oncology, neuroscience and infection/inflammation will all use this facility for research investigations.
Professor Hugo Critchley of Brighton and Sussex Medical School, Dr Evelyn Ferstl and Dr Stefan Koelsch from the University of Sussex work on functional neuro-imaging.
Quantitative measurement of the normal-appearing brain is led by Professor Paul Tofts with his clinical colleagues; clinical areas to be studied include lupus, HIV, gliomas and chronic fatigue syndrome.
Oncology studies using dynamic MRI of Gd contrast agent will be carried out in prostate and other organs.
