Current research:

  • Brighton and Verona Seniors’ Study (BRAVES ). A study to compare dietary habits between matched elderly UK subjects and Italian subjects and establish the link between diet and vascular compliance comparing the effects of Mediterranean diet and UK diet.
  • Probiotics for preventing C difficile positive antibiotic-associated diarrhoea in hospital patients (awaiting to apply to MRC for funding)
  • Study to determine the effect of age by itself on kidney function and to investigate the reliability of eGFR in the elderly. (awaiting results of application for funding)
