Qualifications

  • Diploma in General Nursing Science, Psychiatry, Community and Midwifery
  • Certificate in Dispensing Course
  • Basic life support; Basic paeds course

 

Previous Roles

  • 2002: Worked in Red Cross Children’s Hospital for two years in the emergency medical ward and rehydration unit.
  • 2004: Worked as a Research Nurse in UCT Dept. of Infectious Diseases. I was Deputy Clinic Manager. 

 

Role undertaking on the EU TB diagnostics project

Yekiwe is a professional nurse who will be dealing with the recruitment of patients to the study including signing of the consent forms, history taking, physical examinations and taking blood samples and reading of lab results. Organising and stock control of the room I use in Site B Clinic. Also assisting in the HIV Voluntary Counselling and Testing clinic.
