Steps in the BSMS admissions cycle

Step one

Admissions office reviews applications. Ineligible applications are identified.

  • Status: completed

Please note that BSMS does not send you an individual acknowledgement to say that we have received your application, but if your application to us is recorded on UCAS Track then we have also received it.

Step two

Qualifying applications are passed to admissions assessors who consider all the academic and non-academic information available to them from the UCAS form. They then recommend priority candidates to the BSMS Admissions Board for interview. Each application is considered independently by multiple assessors.

  • Status: completed

Step three

Admissions Board decides which candidates should be offered interviews.

  • Status: completed

Step four

Interviews are held at BSMS in November and February.

  • Status: completed

Step five

Interview panel members make their individual recommendations to Admissions Board. Admissions Board decides which candidates should receive offers.

  • Status: still pending

The BSMS admissions cycle plan is that all candidates should have received a first decision (interview invitation, reserve list place or unsuccessful) by the end of the fourth week of February.
