The city of Brighton & Hove is an exciting place to be a student. It's lively and young and has a very special atmosphere. There's an energetic club scene, a vibrant artistic and cultural life and, thanks to major investment in recent years, the place has a very contemporary buzz.

Brighton & Hove has a long history as a traditional seaside resort and it still attracts visitors for the sea, the beach, the Regency architecture, the extravagant Royal Pavilion, and the Brighton Pier, a popular favourite.

Tucked between the Royal Pavilion and the seafront are The Lanes - the core of the old fishing village from which Brighton developed - which are now a maze of narrow pedestrianised thoroughfares packed with shops and restaurants.

Alongside all its traditional attractions Brighton & Hove enjoys a wide choice of pubs, clubs, fashionable shops and a revamped beachfront. The city-by-the-sea is easy-going, eccentric and cosmopolitan and it's lively all year round.

When you need a break from the bustle of the city there's no need to travel far to be in open country. The beautiful South Downs, offering picturesque villages, acres of farmland and country walks including the South Downs Way, are literally minutes away from Falmer and easily accessible wherever you live in central Brighton.

It's a fun place where you can be yourself and it really does have something for everyone.
