Single modules

BSMS offers a wide range of subjects. Many individual postgraduate taught modules are suitable for study on a stand-alone basis. The majority of modules are run intensively over a five day period and are delivered at the University of Brighton Falmer campus or at nearby NHS centres.

Most modules can be taken either informally for Continuing Professional Development only, or with the option to complete a formal assessment and gain Masters level credits. (It may be possible to use these credits on a postgraduate course at a later date).

Please click on modules below for a full module description and module-specific entry requirements. (It is advisable to apply early as modules become fully subscribed. Please be aware that applications received within one week of the start date of modules will only be considered in exceptional circumstances). All applications are subject to approval by the Module Leader.

Some modules offer a choice of dates.

Healthcare professional modules

Our healthcare courses contribute to our vision as a medical school, providing quality training for all healthcare professionals and a rounded opportunity to learn.

Healthcare professional modules provide students with the opportunity to hone their skills and step up to their next career move within the ever-changing multi-disciplinary world of healthcare. Please check the module entry requirements.

Research modules

We offer research modules which provide students with an understanding of research methods in health and social care and how to use evidence in their specialist areas.

Students will be equipped to search and critically review literature, develop research proposals and gain a pragmatic understanding of statistical topics. Please check the module entry requirements.
