ACADEMIC VACANCIES

Research Fellow in Infection Prevention and Control (to support the Safe Reuse of Medical Products in Healthcare Settings)

Hours: Full-time considered up to a maximum of 1.0 FTE (37.5 hours) Requests for flexible working options will be considered (subject to business need).
Salary: Grade 7 starting at £38,784 to £46,049 per annum, pro rata if part time.

As a research fellow, you will be working within an MRC-funded transdisciplinary hub to decarbonise commissioning and delivery of healthcare – on sub theme 3a – Safe Re-Use of Medical Products (Infection Prevention & Control). The research will focus on identifying and evaluating sustainable innovations in infection prevention and control (IPC) that reduce carbon emissions without compromising patient safety or healthcare outcomes. You will be joining a Sub-Theme Team (Professor Mahmood Bhutta; Dr James Price; Jenni Wilburn (BSMS) and Professor Jennie Wilson (UWL) and will be supported throughout the research project.

PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL SERVICES STAFF VACANCIES

Senior Assessment Co-ordinator

Hours: Full time hours considered up to a maximum of 1.0 FTE/ 36.5 hours per week. Requests for flexible working options will be considered (subject to business need). This post requires full time working hours in May, June and July.
Salary: Grade 5 starting at £30,378 to £34,610 per annum, pro rata if part time.
Contract Type: Permanent

Brighton and Sussex Medical School invites applications for the post of Senior Assessment Co-ordinator. As a key member of the Curriculum Support Team, the post-holder will have specific responsibility for organising practical examination delivery and delivery of national examinations. Based at the University of Brighton Falmer campus, the post-holder will be responsible to the Clinical Assessment Team Manager and will work closely with members of BSMS faculty and administrative colleagues, liaising with appropriate colleagues in other administrative and academic units in the parent universities, and colleagues in the partner NHS Trusts.

Technical Supervisor

Hours: Full-time considered up to a maximum of 1.0 FTE (36.5 hours) Requests for flexible working options will be considered (subject to business need). The core working hours in Medical Research Building are 8:30- 17:30, therefore the daily working hours have to be within core hours, flexible working options outside core hours would not been considered suitable for this role.
Salary: Grade 6 starting at £34,610 to £38,784 per annum, pro rata if part time.
Contract Type: Permanent

As a Technical Supervisor, you will be supporting the research taken place in our facilities in a growing Medical School with a diverse research portfolio. You will take primary responsibility for managing and maintaining tissue culture suites and microbiology labs, a rapidly expanding Tissue Bank, the associated sample database and assisting the Technical Services Manager with health and safety and other regulatory compliance.
