Once candidates submit their UCAS application, our admissions team will email all applicants inviting them to activate and access the University of Brighton applicant area. They will also email to invite applicants to submit any evidence of contextual data. The admissions team will then review applications. UCAT will be used to select candidates for interview who meet or are predicted to meet our academic requirements.

Step 4

Admission interviews will take place from December 2024 through to March 2025.

The interviews will be hosted remotely via Zoom videoconferencing software.

Zoom’s breakout rooms function allows us to run MMIs in a similar manner as we would in-person, consisting of five discussion stations with a variety of interviewers.

You can see an example of an MMI discussion (held in-person) by watching the video below.

To prepare for the MMIs, you may wish to reflect on your work experience referring to the skills and values attributes needed to study medicine published by the Medical Schools Council.

Ahead of your interview, please check your internet speed and consider whether you have access to a suitable space for your interview in your place of living. If you cannot access reliable internet or a comfortable and quiet location, we suggest requesting an interview space at your college or school.

Please make sure that your Zoom is running on the latest software version to avoid technical issues and delays on the morning of your MMI.

At the beginning of the interview, you must present a photo ID to confirm your identity. It is essential that the document clearly states your name in English and the photo is clear.

If you do not have your form of identification ready to hand, you will not be interviewed and you will risk forfeiting your place.

Please be advised that BSMS does not use personal statements at any point during the admissions process.
