Top Tips for UCAT?

Controlling your nerves and staying calm is the hardest part, if you can control that, you will be fine.

How did you prepare for interview?

Practising interviewing with friends, family, and signing up for mock interviews. Also watching YouTube videos with tips from students at specific universities I applied for.

Smile, show you are enthusiastic about medicine and make sure every argument you present is balanced.

If you could go back in time to give one tip to your younger self, what would it be?

Don't let nerves get the better of you and impact your stress! Just know you tried your best and try to stay calm at each hurdle.

What has been your favourite part of the BSMS Medicine course?

Learning about such fascinating concepts from really inspiring lecturers.

Are you involved in any sports or societies?

Last year I was involved in Badminton, Golden Time, and was a part of the BSMS Revue Band. I play the piano so having the opportunity to be a part of a band was a really great way to meet similar people and have the opportunity to practise and develop my skills. I really like tennis so I tried badminton which is really fun and a great way to get exercise. Golden time is great for forgetting about work and playing games with friends.

What has been your BSMS highlight?

Being in the BSMS Medic Revue.

What is your favourite part of living in Brighton and Hove?

I really like the countryside where campus is in Falmer, it's beautiful and there's lots of different trails you can explore.

How have you dealt with stress at medical school?

By keeping on top of my work, and not giving myself more work than is necessary. Give yourself time to relax and do things you enjoy.

Describe your medical school experience in three words.

 Rewarding, fun, challenging.
