Danya Stone

Ms Danya Stone (MSc FHEA)

Lecturer in Anatomy
T: +44 (0)1273 877810
Location: Medical Teaching Building, University of Sussex, Falmer, BN1 9PX

Research areas: Medical education

Danya Stone was awarded an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Genetics from the University of Sheffield. She then completed a masters degree in Human Anatomy and Education, during which she demonstrated anatomy to undergraduate biomedical science students on their introduction to human anatomy module. This provided a pathway for Danya to gain fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) during this year. After completing her studies Danya moved to Ireland to teach anatomy at Trinity College Dublin, responsible for teaching through cadaveric dissection, with a particular focus on head and neck anatomy.

Danya’s research is education focused, with previous work looking at the role of social media in anatomy education. With the move toward online delivery of content at universities she has a particular interest in how to maintain the student teacher relationship through online platforms.

Danya will teach across all year one and two modules and will contribute to teaching on the physician associate course.
