Biography

Jocelyn’s doctoral research investigates the integration of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy within altered-state–assisted treatments, exploring EMDR's potential as a trauma-responsive and evidence-informed approach to psychedelic and breathwork treatments.

Alongside her research role, Jocelyn is a Senior Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), an internationally accredited EMDR practitioner, and a clinical supervisor. She also works as a research therapist on various psychedelic clinical trials, including studies of psilocybin, DMT, and 5-MeO-DMT. Jocelyn serves on the Psychedelic-Assisted EMDR international working group, co-facilitates a number of Special Interest Groups and is a keen educator and advocate at various community events. Prior to clinical work, Jocelyn was a qualified teacher (QTLS), teaching psychology across a range of educational settings while also home-educating her own children. Her interests included alternative routes into education, evidence-led pedagogy, and placing wellbeing and pastoral support at the heart of educational outcomes.

Jocelyn is a mother, a beekeeper and has a keen interest in the healing properties of the natural world.
