Career Mentoring and Networking at Brighton, Sussex and BSMS

Join us to celebrate both International Women's Day and Women's History Month on 20th March to hear about new cross institution mentoring opportunities for all staff following this year's International Women's Day theme of #BetterforBalance.

The University of Brighton, The University of Sussex and Brighton and Sussex Medical School invite their staff to hear how a range of mentoring approaches at these three institutions could help support career development. Academic and Professional Staff mentors and mentees from each of the three institutions will share their experiences of being part of a mentoring scheme and how particular mentoring relationships may work at different life/career stages.

The conversation will consider how identity (e.g. gender, race) based mentoring can help with resilience when faced with particular equality barriers as well as non-identity based mentoring which can open up new networks, perspectives and access to informal structures.

This event will launch new exciting cross institution mentoring and networking opportunities for all staff regardless of your grade or discipline.

The event will take place on the 20th March in Asa Briggs Lecture Theatre, Checkland Building, Falmer between 2pm – 3.30pm.

This will be followed by informal networking with each of the institutional mentoring leads where you can ask questions and register your interest in the schemes.

Teas, coffees and sweet treats will be available from 3.30pm – 5pm in the Asa Briggs Social Space.
