About this session

Explore the specialty of Orthopaedic surgery with Professor Scarlett McNally in this month’s outreach lecture.

In October’s Monthly Lecture, Professor Scarlett McNally will be discussing her experiences in the NHS as an Orthopaedic surgeon. She will explore the ins and outs of Orthopaedic surgery, explaining her journey into medicine, and how the healthcare system has developed over her career. Professor McNally will also discuss the current healthcare environment and the role that we can play in a changing and ever-developing NHS.

Professor McNally went to medical school in London and then Cambridge and qualified as a doctor in 1989. She worked in various hospitals around the South East of England – wherever there was a good Karate club. She has been a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon in Eastbourne since 2002. She loves Orthopaedics because you can fix things and make a huge difference, but you adapt the operation to what the patient wants to achieve.

If you have any questions about this event, or the Monthly Lecture Series, please email the Outreach Team via outreach@bsms.ac.uk.

Please note, we do not provide certificates of attendance for any of our online talks or lectures in the Monthly Lecture Series.
