About this session

We rely on computational simulations all the time, whether it’s checking the weather forecast or trading on the stock market. Will simulations help us give the right drugs into the right patients in future?

Dr Simon Mitchell is a senior lecturer at BSMS and a “systems biologist”. That means he simulates disease on the computer to try and understand it better and find new ways we might treat it. He focuses on cancer research and December's Monthly Lecture he’ll share some of his exciting recent results and his vision for the future of healthcare.

Dr Mitchell studied computer science and maths at university, before completing a PhD in the new field of Systems Biology. He established his own research group at BSMS in 2019, which focuses on tackling blood cancer using systems biology.

If you have any questions about this event, or the Monthly Lecture Series, please email the Outreach Team via outreach@bsms.ac.uk.

Please note, we do not provide certificates of attendance for any of our online talks or lectures in the Monthly Lecture Series.
