Congratulations to BSMS alum, Samantha Fossey, who gave birth to her daughter Zoe at 00:12am on 1 January, making her Sussex's first baby of 2018!
Her delighted mother Samantha and father Elan are convinced she wanted to join their New Year's celebrations - even though the expectant couple were not preparing for too wild a night.
"Zoe is our second baby. She wasn’t due until 7 January but we think she really wanted to see in the New Year," said Elan. Samantha, who is a Radiology SpR, was able to spend the night catching up with fellow BSMS alumni, who were the anaesthetist and obstetrician on call.
Samantha and Elan wanted to extend a special thanks to BSMS alumni Saw Tun and Angela Davey who provided outstanding patient care.
Elan added: "It was really nice because we knew she was in very safe hands. With Sam so close to her due date we weren’t really planning much of a party, but it was a bit like a reunion!"
