Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) has recorded a significant improvement in student satisfaction across its postgraduate taught programmes, according to the latest Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) 2026 results.
The survey showed a response rate of 42.1%, more than double the participation recorded in 2025, providing a robust picture of the postgraduate student experience across the School.
Encouragingly, satisfaction scores increased across almost all areas of the survey, with only a minor reduction reported in dissertation-related feedback. The results reflect BSMS's ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality postgraduate education and responding to student feedback.
Four programmes achieve perfect satisfaction scores
Four BSMS programmes achieved an exceptional 100% student satisfaction rating in this year's survey:
- MSc Physician Associate Studies
- MSc Clinical Education
- PG Cert Public Health
- PG Cert Simulation
The PG Cert Simulation programme's achievement is particularly notable, maintaining a 100% satisfaction score for the third consecutive year.
Student feedback driving improvements
All PTES data, including open-ended student comments, will now feed directly into annual course reviews, helping programme teams identify strengths and areas for further enhancement. This approach ensures that postgraduate students continue to play a central role in shaping the future development of their courses.
