Application guidance

You will only be able to apply to BSMS in your Clearing Matches section (part of UCAS Clearing Plus) of your UCAS application. Log into your UCAS account and go to your UCAS HUB area: Choose your future | UCAS. BSMS will not accept any Clearing requests via phone or email.

Please read our BSMS Clearing Matches eligibility criteria carefully before applying via Clearing Matches:

  • You must have home fees status
  • You must be available in Clearing Matches via UCAS (i.e. currently with a UCAS application and not holding any firm offers or placed elsewhere)
  • You must already have achieved our minimum entry requirements of AAA (or equivalent) – to include Biology and Chemistry, and grade 6 in GCSE English Language (or Literature) and Maths, or equivalents. If you meet contextual data criteria for an adjusted offer, you must have achieved AAB (or equivalent) – to include Biology and Chemistry, and grade 5 in GCSE English Language (or Literature) and Maths, or equivalents. If you are applying as a contextual data applicant, you must meet the eligibility criteria as shown on our website for 2025 entry.
  • You must have taken UCAT within the last two years and obtained the following overall scores:

Non-contextual data applicants must have a minimum overall UCAT score of 2560 including SJT Band score of 3 or higher.

Contextual data applicants must have a minimum overall UCAT score of 2410 including SJT Band score of 3 or higher.

If applying, please send your UCAT ID to medadmissions@bsms.ac.uk

  • You must not have already applied to BSMS this UCAS application cycle
  • If invited, you must be available for online interview on the mornings of Wednesday 6 August or Thursday 7 August. If required, BSMS will also plan online interviews on 12 and 13 August. Invites for interview are likely to be sent at very short notice, so please keep a close eye on your emails. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any alternative dates or times for interviews
  • You must only apply if you want to start this September. If offered a place, it will be for 2025 entry only. Deferral requests will not be considered.

If you meet the above criteria, please go ahead and apply through UCAS via your Clearing Matches.

If you are eligible, you will see a button in your application called ‘See matches’. Once you click on that, you will be able to see a full list of your matches. If you express an interest in our course, we will contact you.
