On 22 September, the latest cohort of Leadership and Education Fellows (LEFs) marked the end of their fellowship year by presenting posters showcasing their projects, learning and achievements.
The event brought together fellows, supervisors, supporters, the incoming 2026 cohort, and colleagues including Professor Jo Szram, South East Regional Postgraduate Dean and Professor Richard McManus, BSMS Dean.
A key milestone in the LEF calendar, the event provided an opportunity to network, share learning across participating Trusts, and celebrate the impact of a fellowship that has been supported by KSS Deanery for the past eight years.

The 2025 fellows shared the impact of their work showcasing projects including delivering improvements to patient care and care pathways; enhancing doctors' skills through simulation training and improving doctors' experiences through the implementation of elements of the 10-point plan. Their posters also highlighted their personal and professional development during the fellowship, demonstrating growing confidence as leaders and the skills and knowledge they gained in leading change.
The afternoon featured a workshop on the programme's ongoing impact, facilitated by Jessie Cunnett, Assistant Professor in the Healthcare Leadership and Commissioning Team. Participants reflected on the programme's impact from their own perspectives, exploring both the immediate outcomes and wider ripple effects of the fellowship. The workshop generated rich data that will be used to further evaluate and understand the programme's longer-term impact.
One participant commented that the session "allowed me to appreciate the impact of being a supervisor and the wonderful opportunity to have a LEF over the last few years".
The day also included a keynote address from Professor Jo Szram, who shared insights into her current priorities and leadership approach. A special thank you goes to Charlotte Street, Senior Project Coordinator, whose hard work behind the scenes ensured the day ran seamlessly and provided a fitting celebration of the fellows' achievements.
Sam Greenhouse, LEF Programme Director said: "Each year I'm impressed and inspired by what the fellows achieve. This cohort fully embraced the development opportunities offered through the programme, and their reflections demonstrated the leadership skills and self-awareness that will support them throughout their careers. It's a privilege to be part of their journey and to celebrate their achievements alongside those who have supported them."
