LGBTQ+ work

BSMS has an online LGBTQ+ network group which shares resources, promotes awareness and develops ideas for events and initiatives. To join this group please email inclusivity@bsms.ac.uk.

LGBTQ+ Network Groups

The University of Sussex and the University of Brighton are committed to Stonewall, the largest LGBTQ+ charity in Europe. BSMS staff are welcome to join either of the partner universities LGBTQ+ network groups:

University of Sussex: 

The University of Sussex aim to become a Top 100 LGBTQ+ Employer in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index by 2025. BSMS staff are welcome to join the LGBTQ+ Staff Network and the Trans and Non-Binary Staff Network, please see the institutional action plan developed by these network groups that includes LGBTQ+ equality actions for a number of areas of work: For further information please see here >

University of Brighton

the University of Brighton's commitment is high profile and actively supports a number of campaigns across the city as part of this work. As part of its commitment to achieving LGBTQ+ equality, the university aimed to rank within the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index Top 100 by 2020–21 and exceeded this goal by being placed 72nd in the Workplace Equality Index 2019.
